was damn bored...and decided to write a composition! back to sec sch days where writing narrative was so fun... haha...
Of him and her...
He was Mr. Average. Plain-looking, freckled face, and with a body that was slightly on the pudgy side. He was average in school, with average results, and always seems to hide under the radar. At parties, he was what people would call the wallflower, easily willing away into non existence compare to the other party goers. He had this downcast look on his face all the time and seldom did he look at other people in the eye. People find him shifty, but I guess he’s just insecure.
She, on the other hard, was Ms Stunning. Pretty, curvy, and poised in her ways. Her immaculate face, with her long silky hair, makes her the centre of attraction everywhere she goes. In school, she was the one person people want to be, and would like to be with. Her locker is always filled with letters from secret admirers, and which she always just tossed them all casually. All these attribute to her confidence in life. She was not an attention seeker, but all these attention she was getting, she doesn’t seem to mind it one bit. On the outside, she was all everybody wanted. However, no one really seems to care what she wants.
And by a stroke of luck, of perhaps one might call it misfortune, Mr. Average and Ms. Stunning ended up in the same class. And best thing of all, they were lab partners. I guess this is what it meant be “beauty and the beast”, for she was the beauty, and he, the beast. All of a sudden, he became the envy of others, as he was “the lab partner” of her. All these unwanted attention on him makes him very uncomfortable, as he hated being in the limelight. However, one thing he does enjoy is, of course the lab session with her.
For him:
He found her very intriguing. The way she goes about her way, the confidence she exudes, the way she shrugs things off when the experiment results went awry, and the downcast, the way she smile at him and greeted him when she sees him at the hallways, and the way her eyes always seem so distant when she’s looking through the windows during rainy days. Perhaps opposites do attracts, even if it’s just one way.
He started to look forward to the lab sessions. He loitered at the hallway near her lockers more, hoping just to catch a glimpse of her. For him, she was the flame of the candle, and he was the wax to keep her burning. She was the moon, and he was the clouds to hide her away when she wants to. She was the rocks, and he was the surging waves that crash upon her. Okay, you got the idea.
He became very observant, especially towards her. And he was already very observant in the first place. After-all, what else could a Mr. Average do apart from observing his surroundings and trying to go with the flow of others. He would notice her changes in the way she do her hair, her school work, and other little nitty gritty things that people would overlook. For her, he’ll go the extra mile to do anything. He would get her snacks and drinks in between the lab sessions, clear up for her after lab, and even make additional notes for her. To him, she was his world. And just being part of it is enough.
He realized he is slowly, but surely, falling in love with Ms. Stunning. The whole school could see that she was special to him, and they hate him for even thinking of being close to someone so popular, someone so pretty, and someone who deserved someone much better than him. And yet when he was confronted by the other guys, he always came up with some flimsy excuse about how she was a just a lab partner to him and helping her equates to helping himself in getting good grades. And people would accept that for they know that he have no chance in getting any closer to her.
He hates being scrutinized by people. Everything he do, he’s being watched. Or rather, he feels that he’s being watched. And all the wanted to do was to be a friend to Ms. Stunning, to care for her, to protect her, and to watch over her. And he doesn’t need any reward for that, as long as she was in his mind all day. He doesn’t dare to want more, although he hope and dream of being with her. He was scared that if he wants more, or even try to wants more, all these will slip away from him. He would no longer be able to see her, and be close to her, and listen to her talk and see her smiles any more. He would rather be contented with the situation now rather than risk anything.

"do you want it hard enough?"
